How to Make a Personal Message Feel Special

How to Make a Personal Message Feel Special

A little behind-the-scenes note about personal video messages.

A personal message only works if it feels personal.

That sounds obvious, but you would be surprised how many greetings feel like they were recorded by a tired robot with good lighting. I do not want that. If I record something for you, I want it to feel like I actually understood the moment.

That is why I ask for the name, the occasion, the mood and sometimes a tiny detail that makes the message feel real. A joke. A nickname. A small story. A reason why this person deserves something more than a regular text.

Then I add my part: warmth, timing, facial expressions, a little drama if needed, and the ability to say something simple without making it feel boring.

So whether it is a birthday, a surprise, a thank-you or just a personal video because you felt like it — the goal is the same: make the person smile like they were not expecting it.
